Chase Miller earned his Bachelor of Music in clarinet performance from the University of Kentucky under the instruction of Dr. Scott Wright. Miller is now pursuing a Master of Music degree in clarinet performance at the University of Arizona Fred Fox School of Music under the guidance of Professor Jerry Kirkbride.
Miller is an active participant in many ensembles and is currently a member of the Fred Fox Graduate Wind Quintet and the University of Arizona Wind Ensemble. While attending the University of Kentucky, he served as principal and E-flat clarinetist in numerous ensembles including the Symphony Orchestra, Wind Symphony, Opera Orchestra, and the Kentucky Intercollegiate Band. Miller has performed in several master classes and studied privately with renowned clarinetist including Alan Kay, Jeremy Reynolds, Cecila Kang, Robert Turizziani, Alexander Fiterstein, and Walter Seyfarth. He was the recipient of the University of Kentucky School of Music’s 2013 McCracken Award for exceptional achievement in music performance and the 2013 winner of the University’s annual Concerto Competition. Most recently, he has had the privilege of participating in the 2014 National Woodwind Competition of Arts and Letters.
Miller has been a dedicated chamber musician and private instructor since he graduated high school in 2009. He has participated in various chamber music festivals, most recently at fresh inc. in Summer 2015 and the previous two consecutive summers at BayView Music Festival (2014 & 2015). He has organized and maintained a private studio of twenty-eight clarinet students and is passionate about music outreach and providing a quality music education to developing clarinetists.
