Claire Niederberger

Violin, 2019

Violinist Claire Niederberger is a dynamic performer, collaborator, and educator in the Houston area. She is currently pursuing a Certificate in Music Performance at the University of Houston, where she studies with with Kirsten Yon. A versatile performer, Claire is active as an orchestral and chamber musician, and is a fierce advocate of contemporary music in all settings. She plays with AURA contemporary ensemble, frequently collaborating with artists of other mediums to create dynamic, multidisciplinary performances. She is also a founding member of the Oasi Trio, which is currently focused on an elaborate tour and commissioning project for fall 2019. She has been granted opportunities to premiere works in Italy, Canada, and across the United States, and has worked with musicians from Fifth House Ensemble, Bang on a Can All-Stars, eighth blackbird, and JACK quartet. Claire received her Master’s degree from the University of Houston, and her Bachelor of Music from the University of Michigan. Recent festival appearances include Fresh Inc Festival, Bang on a Can Summer Music Festival, and the Cortona Sessions for New Music. While not playing violin, Claire enjoys traveling to new places, baking desserts, and hot yoga-ing.
