Braeburn Brass

Ensemble, 2020

Braeburn Brass is a young chamber music ensemble that is in the exciting stage of exploring its identity. The ensemble was established in Appleton, Wisconsin during the 2019 Atlantic Brass Quintet Seminar. From there, a recording session in December has propelled the group on to acceptances in the (now cancelled) Aspen Music Festival Brass Quintet Seminar and the Fresh Inc Festival, as well as a feature on the upcoming online Atlantic Brass Quintet Seminar.

With members from across the United States, Braeburn has worked to continue its momentum during the pandemic by creating and performing new arrangements and is looking forward to taking the valuable insights and connections from the Fresh Inc. Festival to create new and exciting art, including commissions from and collaborations with multiple festival participants.

Members of the group include Greg Papaefthymiou and Hamed Barbarji on trumpet, Momo Hasselbring on horn, Brian Entwistle, trombone, and Wiatt Cariveau, tuba. Each member brings their vision to the ensemble. Upcoming (hopefully!) performances include a Virginia tour with a culminating recital at Virginia Commonwealth University.
