Eric Aaron is an avid lifelong learner, always seeking to develop his musicianship through experiences with teachers, peers, and students. He currently attends the University of Maryland, College Park, pursuing a B.M. in Horn Performance and a B.M.E. in Instrumental Music Education. He is heavily involved in the chamber music program, playing in the horn choir, brass ensemble, and New Leaf Brass Quintet. Eric served as principal horn for the Intercollegiate Band at the 2020 College Band Directors National Association (CBDNA) Eastern Conference. He also recently won an audition to play for National Symphony Orchestra Associate Principal Horn, Laurel Ohlson, in a masterclass.
Eric enjoys sharing his passion for music with young learners. He maintained a beginner piano studio while in high school and taught at UMD’s Terrapin Music Camp in the summer of 2019. Today, he coaches horn players at a nearby high school in Montgomery County, Maryland.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Eric has taken advantage of the extra time to take a class on digital audio workstations, make origami, and spend more quality time with his Nintendo Switch.
