Established in 2019, the Fresh Voices program offers dedicated scholarship support to participants who are female, artists of color, and/or LGBTQ-identified, to build leadership capacity, career advancement, and entrepreneurial skills among artists underrepresented in our field. The scholarships fill an industry-wide need to facilitate career advancement for groups under-represented in major artistic programming nationally.
Last year 85% of participants qualified for support, 100% of participants received scholarships, and 15 attended tuition free.
For the first time this year, six composers of color will be selected to attend tuition-free as Fromm Foundation Fellows.
This season, Fifth House presents Fresh Voices from Fresh Inc, a program featuring works by Evan Williams, Sebastian Quesada, Ayanna Woods, Sergio Delgado, Karalyn Schubring, Alex Temple, Daisy Ai, and a new commission by Becky Turro supported by the Kenosha Community Foundation. Follow us at www.fifth-house.com for more details as they are announced!
Scholarships are awarded as part of the admissions process; no additional steps are necessary to apply.
