Established in 2019, the Fresh Voices program offers dedicated scholarship support to participants who are female, artists of color, and/or LGBTQ-identified, to build leadership capacity, career advancement, and entrepreneurial skills among artists underrepresented in our field. The scholarships fill an industry-wide need to facilitate career advancement for groups under-represented in major artistic programming nationally.
Last year 85% of participants qualified for support, 100% of participants received scholarships, and 15 attended tuition free.
This season, Fifth House presents a new program featuring six commissioned works from the Fromm Foundation Fellows – six composers of color who were selected to attend tuition-free for the first time at the 2021 festival. Follow us at www.fifth-house.com for more details as they are announced!
Scholarships are awarded as part of the admissions process; no additional steps are necessary to apply.
