Grace Lai

Flute, 2012


Yu Hui (Grace) Lai, a native of Taipei, Taiwan, holds a bachelor’s degree from the Chinese Culture University in Taiwan and a master’s degree from California Institute of the Arts. Currently in the Doctor of Musical Arts program in Flute Performance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance, she studies with Mary Posses and is a member of the Conservatory Orchestra and Musica Nova. Her previous teachers include Yi Hui Lin and Rachel Rudich; she has also worked with oboist Alan Vogel. Grace has performed with the New Century Players in Los Angeles, Xang Duo, and Dogstar Experimental Music Ensemble; and also performed with Chicago- based Fifth House Ensemble at Rush Hour Concert and Ravinia Festival in June 2012.
