Matthew Entwistle is a British film and concert composer, accompanist and experienced, performer in classical/modern piano, based in New York City. Before attending NYU, he became a Licentiate of the United Kingdom’s Royal Schools of Music in piano performance (LRSM), equal to four years of college study. He entered NYU Steinhardt in Fall 2010 for the B.M. Music Composition program. Since then, he has composed and directed music for musical theatre, dance, TV, film, concert, and arrangements of popular music, with a focus in TV/film & concert music in multimedia for his future career.
Matthew works as a music archivist and transcriber for New York City-based political musical comedy troupe Political Subversities, and is a frequent collaborator with film students at NYU Tisch. Recent work & collaborations include New York City’s Composers’ Voice concert series, the 2012 International Chefs’ Congress (as part of a special presentation given by LA-based chef Jordan Kahn), Chicago-based Fifth House Ensemble and Saturday Night Live. Matthew has studied composition with NYU Steinhardt artist faculty member Young-Mi Ha and is now studying with LA-based film composer David Spear.
