Randal Dennler is a native of Dayton, Ohio, where he began playing the bassoon at age eleven. He has degrees from the University of Michigan, the University of Cincinnati, and is currently continuing his studies at the University of DePaul. Having maintained an active freelance career in Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio, he most recently performed with the Elgin Symphony and the Illinois Philharmonic. Recently, Randal began the post Master’s certificate program at DePaul University, studying privately with William Buchman. His highlights at Depaul have been performing the opening solo to Stravinsky’s Le sacre du printemps with the DePaul Symphony Orchestra at the New World Center and his wind quintet’s performance of Ligeti’s Sechs Bagatellen für Bläserquintett. Having completed the Fresh Inc Festival 2020, Randal has been spending much of the 2020 pandemic at home practicing, making reeds, and learning Logic Pro while recording himself from home!
